I recently spent a couple of nights at Grotto Pergola, a charming little gem tucked away in Giornico. The surroundings are simply beautiful, set amid a well-groomed garden that offers stunning views of the mountains-a great spot for a quiet escape. While the rooms were simply furnished and clean, they could use a refresh; they felt slightly outdated. I must mention, though, that the pricing is a bit steep given the amenities-especially when the breakfast offered was just sweet bread and jam! On the upside, the free parking right outside is a major plus, especially for road trippers like me. The host was friendly and accommodating, ensuring we had a good stay with helpful tips for exploring the area. If you're looking for a traditional experience with some Swiss and Italian dishes at the restaurant, Grotto Pergola might be worth considering-just keep an eye on those wine prices! it's a lovely spot if you're ready to embrace a rustic vibe with great potential for scenic relaxation.
